Pulled Pork Sandwiches


2 lb pork roast
3 T vegetable oil
1/2 cup Rusty Truck Dry Rub
1 1/2  jars of Rusty Truck MoonShine Barbeque Sauce
12 hoagie rolls
Hot Pepper Flakes

Preheat oven to 300 degrees, rub pork roast in vegetable oil then Rusty Truck Dry Rub.  place in foil lined baking dish and place in 300 degree oven and cook for 5-6 hours.  After 5 hours, take a fork and see if it is easy to shred,  if not, keep cooking until meat easily shreds.  

when fully cooked and easy to shred, remove from oven and let sit for appx 30 minutes before fully shredding.  Remove foil from baking dish and discard as you will reuse the pan.  After 30 minutes, shred completely and place meat back in the baking dish.  Take 1 full 16 oz jar of the Rusty Truck MoonShine barbeque sauce and pour over meat and mix together.  Place back in oven for 15-20 minutes.

Place hoagie rolls on a serving platter and load up with the pulled pork, spoon more MoonShine Barbeque sauce over sandwiches and sprinkle hot pepper flakes.

Serve with a side of The Rusty Truck Macaroni or Potato Salad and slices of dill pickels.

Hello friends,

One of my long time passions has always been cooking, for many years my wife and I have had the pleasure of hosting many parties, whether it be Halloween parties, Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day feasts, Luau’s and Mexican Fiesta’s the list goes on and on.  In my early years, I worked in several restaurants along side professionally trained chefs but my most valued experience was when I worked at Longhi’s, a 5 star restaurant located on the Island of Maui Hawaii.

It has always been my dream to open up a restaurant in my later years and someday this dream will come true but for now my great friend Joe Morris and I have decided to put our culinary experience to work and start our own catering business called “
The Rusty Truck” and I am excited to say, The Rusty Truck is officially in business.

As the first step in our endeavor we have mastered a very special Barbeque sauce which we have named “
MoonShine”. 

MoonShine is 100% home made and takes over 3 hours to prepare.  Perfect with Pork, Chicken, Beef and Hot Links, and as a dipping sauce.  It is both sweet yet has a little kick to it and, is available now by the pint!

The Rusty Truck catering menu will include the following:
